Zimbabwe Action Group (ZAG) is a Human Rights organization which was set up to assist the Zimbabwean community in the United Kingdom in all aspects of their lives away from their home country. The UK is home to over 25 000 Zimbabwean Asylum seekers and refugees.
- More than 90% of them have had inadequate exposure to the discourse of human rights due to the repressive nature of the political and social environment they escaped.
- It has therefore been difficult for many to realise that they have rights such as the right to participation and association here in the UK which they should exercise.
- Subsequently, many cases of ignorance leading to poor social integration within host communities have emerged and it is the aim of ZAG to address these issues through various awareness schemes and training.
